The Elite laser is the best hair removal laser on the market today. It has the two most effective laser wavelengths for permanent hair reduction. The Alexandrite wavelength is most useful for fine hairs on fair-skinned patients, and the Nd:YAG wavelength works best for my dark-skin toned patients. |

In the U.S., laser hair removal is the fastest growing non-surgical aesthetic laser application. With a projected annual growth rate of 18 percent, there will be 6 million laser hair removal procedures performed in 2010. While hair removal is most popular among women—with virtually all of them aged 12 and over engaging in the practice on a regular basis—laser hair removal for men comprised 14.8% of the total procedures performed in 2005.
Cynosure's Elite Aesthetic Workstation is the most comprehensive laser hair removal system available today. Since it's designed for all skin types, you can treat the broadest range of clients. In addition, the system is optimized for effective treatment of facial and leg veins, as well as benign epidermal pigmented lesions.
Q: How does it work?
A: To eliminate hair, the laser emits gentle pulses of energy that pass through the skin to the hair follicle. This energy is then absorbed into the hair follicle to destroy the stem cells which produce the hair, thus inducing permanent hair reduction.
Q: Am I a viable candidate for laser hair removal?
A: Any patient is a candidate. Laser hair removal can be done on any skin color or body area, as long as the hair is dark brown or black. Unfortunately blond hairs cannot be removed reliably.

Q: Does it hurt?
A: Hair removal can be uncomfortable. However the cold air paired with the laser improves the comfort of the procedure. Some patients also use numbing cream to make the procedure as painless as possible.
Q: How many treatments are required?
A: Most patients see results within 4-8 treatments, thought this number will vary based upon skin tone, hair color and several other factors.
Q: Can it remove 100% of my hair?
A: Unfortunately many laser clinics claim they can achieve total removal of all hair. However this is not possible. Multiple research studies have been performed and concur that 70 to 80% hair reduction is what can be expected. The remaining 20 to 30% is finer and lighter than before and can be maintained with plucking, waxing, shaving or occasional touch up laser treatments.
